EReach Dual USB 15000mAh Solar Charger Power Bank

With a capacity of 15000mAh this is an above average capacity powerbank  but is smaller in both size and weight than some other less powerful I have used. I suppose that shows how technology is advancing.

The powerbank arrived nicely packaged in a n eco friendly cardboard box robust enough to store the unit in if needed. Supplied with the powerbank was a short USB to micro-USB charging cable,a carabiner ring, and a small but well written and easy to read User Guide, not that you are likely to need to read it. I enclose a scan of it on the end of my unboxing video.

Although smaller than I expected the powerbank is quite chunky. It seems very robust and well made and capable of surviving a knock or two. On the front is a small LED display to show the remaining battery power along with the two standard USB ports, one outputting at 5v/1A and the other at 5v/2,1A, between them is the micro-USB power-in charging port.  They are all smart ports and will detect the requirements of the connected device and output exactly the power level needed.

On one side is the only control, a simple Off/On switch which also can be double clicked turn on the flashlight. The top consists solely of the solar panel and on the underside is the large six LED light array. There is a pre attached but removable lanyard and carabiner which allows the device to be suspended and used as a tent light since unlike with most power banks which feature a torch style flashlight this one has a more diffused light source which can be more versatile in use.

I tested it with my Nexus 6P phone and my iPad and found the charging times to be fast with no sign of overheating either from the powerbank or connected device.

It is a pity that there is no USB-C port as increasing numbers of phones and tablets now feature this interface.  The solar power array works although the light in an English autumn cannot be expected to get the best from it. I suppose one way to use it would be to attach it to your rucksack using the carabiner and charge up whilst on the move.

This is a powerful and capacious powerbank, free from whistles and bells that performs one task and does it superbly well. The price is good for the features and capacity as is the robust build quality. I see no reason why not to recommend it.
