Priced at just £18.99 on Amazon, including a free battery, there is not much not to like about this new digital laser thermometer from AQV. It does not have any features not found elsewhere but it does beat most rivals on price.
The device arrived simply packaged in a blister pack inside of which aside from the thermometer itself was a standard and easily obtainable 9v battery and a user Guide. The single sheet User Guide is large, well printed and easy to read if a little confusingly laid out. That does not matter too much as the device is simple and intuitive to use.
The thermometer has a large trigger button to take readings and on the rear a small (52x28x2.8mm) backlit LCD screen with buttons for mode selection (Celsius or Fahrenheit), and Laser targeting selection. The rather small LCD screen has an optional backlight and display the current temperature, battery status, Data Hold status, Laser ON symbol, C/F mode selected. The last reading will be remembered and by holding the trigger button down a continuous readout will be displayed.
The device has a a 0.5sec response time and will read temperatures between -58℉ to 716℉ (-50℃～380℃ ) with 100±.2°C~00±.2°C accuracy. Note that this device is not suitable for use on humans or animals or for clinical or medical use. It is designed for industrial or home hobby use only.
If you need a reliable and easy to use laser thermometer for hobby or industrial use then you are unlikely to find a better buy for the money.
