Opul Glass and Bamboo Essential Oil Diffuser

This new aromatherapy oil diffuser from Opul arrived nicely presented in an up market product box reinforcing the expensive feel of this device and in contrast to the basic boxing and presentation found with budget rivals. This device would be particularly attractive as a gift because of it.

Inside the box was the oil diffuser itself, a power supply with a two pin plug, a UK plug adapter and a well written and easy to read User Guide (which I include on the end of my unboxing video). No measuring jug was included, a pity as a jug of identical capacity to the water reservoir would make filling the device easier.

To operate the device is simplicity itself. Detach the the top of the unit from the base, fill the unit with water to the indicated mark on the tank, add a few drops of your favourite essential oil, replace the top, plug in and switch on. Unlike most rivals the lid just sits on top and does not need to be screwed in place. There is just one button and this illuminates when the device is active. One press turns on the oil burner and LED lights which cycle through the various colours available, a second press turns off the lights leaving the burner alone operating, a third press turns the device off completely. Unlike with many other devices you cannot select a single LED colour. This device also lacks a timer and will operate until switched off or automatically shut down when the water reservoir is empty. The water tank in fact is rather small for the size of the device but should still gives several hours of operating time.

The main selling point of this device is the elegant design and premium build quality with the body made from Bamboo and the top from frosted glass. It does have both the look and feel of a high end device and for many users this will offset the absence of perhaps little used features.

The diffuser is elegant and attractive and should sit well in a home, office or clinical environment, the lighting is subtle and unobtrusive and the misting process is pleasant and can lift or give atmosphere to the room. Be aware that due to the nature of the ioniser and misting process some water may be precipitated around the device so do not locate it close to sensitive objects. This diffuser emits a large amount of mist, more so than most of the others I have tried, which is a good or bad thing according to your outlook.

Of the several diffusers I have experimented with this is one perhaps the best as it simple to use, looks good and works well. It is rather more expensive at a current Amazon price of £50.99 but this is reflected in the build quality and presentation.
