HIGHEVER Bluetooth Sleep Headphones

This is really three items in one: a sleep eyeshade, sports headband, and a music headband. All three jobs it does well and at £19.99 (discounts apply) it is very well priced.

Inside the box along with the headband itself, was just the USB charging cable and a User Gude. The build quality of everything seems fine, well-made and with a quality feel to it. The User Guide is well written in good English, nicely printed, and easy to read. I append a scan of it to my unboxing video. It is a pity, however, no storage box for the headband was included.

The headband has two speakers and a central control pod accessible from a zipped pocket on the front of the headband. This is an advance on some rivals units which have the control button incorporated into one of the speakers. There is a pop-out USB-C port to charge the device when not in use, again an advance on old models which had a hard to access port on the control pod itself. The pocket allows the speakers and central control pod to be removed before washing the headband. The control pod has just three buttons: Power/Play/Pause/Call Reject, Forward/Vol Up, Back/Vol Down/. There is also a status LED active when charging.

Pairing the pod to the phone is a matter of just pressing the Play/Pause/Power button and following the voice prompts. Look for the Bluetooth device BT-FAAH on your phone when pairing. I was very pleased to see that the latest Bluetooth 5 technology was has been used here as this will greatly improve the sound quality, range, and connection.

I prefer to use this headset for listening to music when in bed as it allows me to comfortably rest my head on the pillow when laying on my side, not possible easily with normal headphones and often uncomfortable with earbuds. It allows me to sleep peaceably all night with my eyes shaded and without headphones to fall off or earbuds to come loose.

The headband is soft and padded and the speakers do not press into the ears or feel intrusive in any way. It can be pulled over the eyes to aid sleep. I sleep far better with it on and if I need to listen again in the morning the long battery life means that it will still give several hours more music time even if it has been left switched on all night.

I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. Often headphones with unusual design tend to sacrifice audio quality but not so here. The audio is good with plenty of bass, clear and non-muddy mid times, and high frequencies which are not sibilant or grating. The sound quality is more than adequate and better than many conventional headphones I have used costing much more.

Although I use it as a music and sleep headband for bedtime use, many people will prefer to use it for sports use with the zipped pocket handy for storing keys and cards. The headband is sweat absorbent, as well as soft and comfortable and is well suited for this use. I would feel it a little restrictive to wear for sports use but others may disagree.

This is an excellent device for bedtime or general home use with very decent sound quality but is well made and durable enough for sports use. The current price makes it particularly attractive.
